Corporate Social Responsibility

As our Chairman rightly points out, a security guard can very well protect a place or a person, but will they be able to protect the environment?

Watchguard being the pioneer in security firms in Sri Lanka, is also devoted to working towards a better future for all. Thus, we have launchedtwo CSR initiatives: Wild Honey Cultivation and tree planting, which are slated to make resonant changeswith a significant impact in the future.

Wild Honey Cultivation

Wild Honey Cultivation

This project is aimed at nurturing natural wild honey cultivation, which is chemical-free, and much healthier compared to man-made honey. This honey is extracted naturally from the forest and certainly beneficial for mankind. Even though this project is at its preliminary stage, it is a unique and useful venture. Our Chairman along with the directors and villagers, are consistently working on this initiative in Bandarawela, (Ella), thus serving as a worthy project for the livelihood of the villagers, as well as a benefit for the organisation.

Tree Planting

Wild Honey Cultivation

These initiatives are actively on-going in many places around the island (temples, schools, roads etc). Major Welikala is passionate about giving back to the environment by planting trees that we humans cut down every day. We have been a part of this project for several years, and as stated above, we have planted many trees in many communities, thus promoting a greener lifestyle. He emphasises that even though a security guard can protect a site or an entity, only trees can protect the world.
